Soccer Saturday

It is an absolutely beautiful day in St. Louis today.  Warm, lots of sun, and a nice fall breeze.  A great day for a kindergarten soccer game.

The Chargers were back at the Immacolata campus today for a game against St. Michael's.  While the score today was a bunch to 1, it was fun to see the improvement the kids are making.  They are showing more hustle and seemed to be more willing to stick with the ball.  Christian is shaping up to be a fine player.  He did great today as both a defender and as a forward.  His desire to be first is helping him--there were several times today where he ran down a St. Michael's player and either took the ball away, or threw them off course enough to let the Chargers get on the ball.

The team got their last-minute instructions and pep talk.

Regrouping with Coach after St. Michael's scored the first goal of the game.

Throwing in the ball

Christian decides that the green guy shouldn't have the ball.

So he goes for it.  Let me at it!

 Oops, it's behind us.

Going after the ball again.

Where's Connor?

Sitting under the bleachers playing with Iron Man and a pretzel stick.

Way to go Chargers!  You did great today.
