Ten Apples Up on Top

This weekend has been the perfect fall weekend.  Cool weather, with lots of warm sun to make it wonderful to be outside.

To make the most of the weekend, we took the boys apple picking at Eckerts Farms in Belleville yesterday morning.  When I was young, we had trips out to Eckerts.  Its was fun to remember those visits, but it was also really fun to take the boys to the same place I'd gone to pick apples as a kid.

We had to go early because of the soccer schedule, but it was great.  We beat the crowds, and unlike last year when we went too late in the season, there were lots of apples within arms reach for the boys to pick.  It was a great day!

When we arrived we hopped onto the wagon for the ride over to the apple orchard.

DP: What is this fruit that you speak of?

Hmmmm

Daddy, Can you help?

 Thanks Daddy!

There was a tall stack of wooden crates with Eckerts painted on the sides.

Getting washed...

Now, ready to be turned into apple pie and applesauce.
